Sky Arts Landscape Artist 2018
I recently spent an interesting few hours on the edge of Loch Fyne, Scotland sitting in a pod in the rain, stitching the misty view across the water with my sewing machine, whilst taking part in Sky Arts Landscape Artist of The Year 2018.
Despite being outside my comfort zone on so many levels ( time constraints, weather, cameras, interviews . . . . ) I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience !
Here are a few screenshots from the programme, which was aired on 30th October, together with my final piece, achieved in the four hours allocated to complete the work !
My submission piece which gained me a place in one of the heats ( and taking over 40 hours to complete in a much more relaxed setting ! ) is a stitched and coloured drawing of the Tardis of books and all things literary, known as Topping & Co, bookstore.
Drawn from a photograph taken whilst out wandering the streets of the wonderful Georgian Heritage City of Bath, UK

Here’s a timelapse video of my taking part in the programme. A few hours condensed into a very speedy couple of minutes !
